Tom Hyde
Tom Hyde was born in New York State, graduated from Kent State University in Ohio, and served two years in the Peace Corps in Tonga before moving to New Zealand, where his golf improved immeasurably. He now plays on a 15 handicap.
Formerly an award-winning senior writer for Metro magazine, he is the author of The Mad Keen Golfer’s Road Trip and has played on countless New Zealand golf courses, from Balmacewen, opened in 1873, to Jack’s Point, opened in 2008.
